Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
On 27 February 2026, our Class of 2025 returned to TMJC
to receive their GCE A-Level Examination results, marking
the end of an unforgettable JC journey.
Our Principal, Mr Sin, extended his heartfelt congratulations
to the cohort and shared his best wishes for the future. Over the past
two years, our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, perseverance,
and dedication. Each success reflects the collective spirit, support, and
camaraderie that defined the Class of 2025.
The day was filled with celebration and reflection, as students reunited
with friends and teachers to mark this significant moment together.
As our students take their next steps beyond TMJC, we are confident they
will continue to pursue their dreams with courage and purpose.
TMJC is incredibly proud of you, Class of 2025! The future awaits you.
Celebrating Excellence: JC1 Awards Ceremony 2026
On 26 February 2026, the JC2 cohort gathered to celebrate their peers'
milestones at the JC1 Awards Ceremony. This event recognises the dedication
and resilience displayed by students throughout their first year at TMJC.
Beyond academic excellence—honoured through Best in Subject awards and
the TMJC Book Prize—the ceremony also celebrated holistic growth. The Edusave
Character (ECHA) and Edusave Awards for Achievement, Good Leadership &
Service (EAGLES) awards recognised students for their exemplary character
and 21st-century competencies. The TMJC Alumni Scholarships were also presented
to students who demonstrated exceptional holistic development during their
JC1 year.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with spirited cheers as awardees took
the stage. Our Principal, Mr. Sin, offered heartfelt affirmation, encouraging
the cohort to build on their successes. Adding to the inspiration, esteemed
alumna Ms. Cortel Jillian Erin Gaudia shared poignant stories from her
own JC journey, offering invaluable perspectives on the road to the A-Levels.
It was a morning of deep reflection and collective pride—a fitting tribute
to the grit and heart of our students.
Total Defence Day Commemoration 2026
The College commemorated Total Defence Day 2026 under the theme “Together,
We Keep Singapore Strong.” In a world marked by disruptions — from global
supply chain shocks to energy vulnerabilities — the significance of Total
Defence remains ever relevant. This year’s commemoration focused on strengthening
students’ crisis-readiness, cultivating both a sense of reality and hope
amid disruptions.
Students engaged in both reflective and experiential learning. Principal
Mr Sin and student representatives launched the commemoration with reflections
on the importance of Total Defence in everyday life. During CCE lessons,
students gained firsthand insights from RSAF and SAF Volunteer Corps personnel
who spoke on the enduring importance of Singapore’s military defence.
Reflections aside, two experiential highlights stood out. On 23 February,
students participated in Exercise SG Ready, a simulated power disruption
that required lessons to continue without lights, fans and projectors.
The exercise prompted reflection on Singapore’s energy vulnerabilities
and the importance of staying calm and adaptive during discomfort. On 24
February, JC1 students attended a learning journey to Nippon Koi Farm,
where they bonded as a CG for the first time and learnt how Singapore leverages
advanced technologies to strengthen her food security.
TM Unites
Our TMJC family came together on Lunar New Year Eve for TM Unites, a morning
dedicated to refreshing our college and spreading warmth to the community.
In the spirit of renewal, our JC2 students carried out spring cleaning
across the college, taking pride in our shared environment. Meanwhile,
our JC1 students packed care packs and created handcrafted festive lanterns
and decorations for residents in Tampines.
On 21 February, these care packs were distributed to the residents in
Tampines. Beyond that, we also collaborated with the Pasir Ris East (PRE)
Care Store to pack and distribute essentials to residents in Pasir Ris.
May we continue to carry this spirit of kindness and community in everything
we do.
STEM Fest 2026
STEM Fest 2026 is a college-wide celebration of curiosity, creativity
and real-world problem-solving. Anchored on the call to Ignite, Explore, Connect and Empower,
the festival invites students to see Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics not merely as academic subjects, but as powerful lenses through
which we understand and shape the world.
Over five dynamic days, students experienced a rich spectrum of activities.
STEM Fest opened with a keynote address by Ms Kong Man Jing — a local science
and nature content creator better known as Biogirl MJ — followed by the
launch of the inter-house challenge, Reel Magic, Real STEM,
where Orientation Groups transformed “magic” tricks into short science
reels that uncovered the principles behind the illusion.
The Curiosity Corridor @ TM Cove transformed everyday spaces into interactive STEM playgrounds, where students completed challenges, earned stamps, and rallied house points. A diverse line-up of talks explored topics ranging from quantum chemistry and semiconductor technology to flavour science and space innovation. Hands-on workshops — including liquid nitrogen ice cream making, forensic math and DNA analysis, 3D printing, AI fundamentals and ocean acidification — enabled students to experience science in action. Learning journeys to industry and research sites further connected classroom concepts to cutting-edge applications in the real world.
Beyond knowledge acquisition, STEM Fest 2026 cultivated collaboration, communication and critical thinking. Students stepped into the roles of presenters, innovators and problem-solvers — whether prototyping with engineers, modelling epidemics with Python, or explaining the science behind a magic trick.
By Sparking Thoughts and Empowering Minds through STEM Fest, we envision a community that is more confident in asking bold questions, making interdisciplinary connections, and recognising that STEM is not confined to classrooms and laboratories, but lives in every choice, challenge and opportunity around us.
TMJC Celebrates Chinese New Year with Cultural Festivities and Community Care
Tampines Meridian Junior College welcomed 2026's Year of the Horse with
festive decorations and the theme "Spring in Tampines Meridian."
On Lunar New Year’s Eve, our JC1 and JC2 students gathered for TM Unites,
a college-wide initiative to refresh our campus and spread community warmth.
The JC1 students worked together to craft festive decorations and prepare
care packs for Tampines residents, embodying the spirit of community care.
Meanwhile, the JC2 students took part in a college-wide spring cleaning,
reducing the workload for our elderly cleaners. Through these shared responsibilities,
both cohorts demonstrated great teamwork, and their activities perfectly
captured the spirit of renewal and giving that defines the Lunar New Year
season.
The concert celebration opened with Chinese Orchestra performing festive
pieces "Welcome New Year" and "Joyous Celebration." Guitar Ensemble followed
with energetic K-pop rendition of “Travel” , filling the hall with hopeful
melodies for the new year journey. Dance Society captivated audiences with
their graceful performance, featuring exquisite costumes and fluid choreography
that drew continuous applause. Taekwondo students delivered powerful demonstrations
with dynamic formations, showcasing strength and vigour in their New Year
greetings. Wushu students demonstrated the harmony of strength and grace
through spear and fan performances, embodying galloping horses' vitality.
NUS Lion Dance troupe concluded with spectacular performances featuring
thunderous drums and traditional lion dances.
The celebration concluded with traditional lohei in the TM Oasis, where
the entire college community gathered for a mass prosperity toss. Teachers
and students assembled around their respective class tables, creating a
vibrant atmosphere filled with anticipation. TM Oasis erupted with auspicious
wishes and cheers as everyone enthusiastically tossed the colourful ingredients
together, filling the air with fragrant aromas and joyful voices. This
mass lohei experience brought the entire TMJC family together, embodying
community care and cultural appreciation whilst creating lasting memories
of shared celebration.
First Day JC1 + Orientation
On 4 February 2026, TMJC welcomed its JC1 cohort with “OHANA” –
a celebration of family, belonging, and unity. More than an introduction
to junior college life, the five-day Orientation marked the beginning of
each student’s journey into the TMJC family. Guided by dedicated Orientation
Group Leaders (OGLs) and supported by Orientation Group Teachers (OGTs),
JC1s forged meaningful connections while immersing themselves in the vibrant
culture and spirit of the College.
Day 1 set the tone for unity as Orientation and House banners were unveiled,
symbolising shared pride and community. A high-energy flash mob of the
College Mass Dance ignited the atmosphere, warmly welcoming the JC1s. Through
ice-breakers and a guided school tour led by OGLs, students began forming
friendships and growing familiar with their new environment. The day concluded
with spirited House walk-ins and the JC1s learning the Mass Dance - their
first collective experience as one TMJC.
Day 2 focussed on empowerment and assurance. Informative talks on the
JC curriculum, along with a dialogue session with School Leaders and Academic
Heads, provided clarity and reaffirmed that guidance and support are always
available.
On Day 3, games and team-based activities strengthened bonds and fostered
trust, teamwork, and College spirit. Learning College cheers and Mass Dance
further unified the cohort in voice and movement.
Day 4 celebrated individuality within unity. OGLs rallied House pride
by teaching distinctive cheers, while the CCA Leaders’ Walk-in and Oath
Taking Ceremony inspired JC1s with examples of leadership and camaraderie.
The CCA exhibition opened doors to new passions and opportunities.
The journey culminated on Day 5 at Pasir Ris Park, where shared experiences
deepened friendships. The highly anticipated Finale brought the celebration
to its peak, featuring performances that showcased the heart and spirit
of TMJC. As the College anthem rang out, sung with pride and joy, the JC1s
stood not as individuals, but as one united family.
Through OHANA, our JC1 students experienced what it truly means to belong.
As they begin their journey here at TMJC, we are excited to walk alongside
them – supporting, celebrating, and growing together as one TMJC family.
Turning Passion into Action!
We are incredibly proud of Krystal Sandar Swe (24A301), our Interact Club
President, for receiving the Junior - Merit Prize at the HSBC NYAA Youth
Environmental Award 2026!
Krystal walks the talk. From turning canteen waste into compost for our
Food Digester project to leading beach clean-ups with Project Katharise,
she blends environmental stewardship with service. Her impact extends to
the wider community where she leads upcycling workshops for the elderly
and advocates for sustainable food practices.
We can all play a part in shaping a better future. Find a cause you care
about and start making a difference too!
Congratulations, Krystal!
TMJC Open House 2026: Soaring New Skyes
TMJC's Open House 2026, held on 15 January, embraced the inspiring theme
"Soaring New Skyes," which symbolised new beginnings and endless possibilities
for prospective TMJC students. This theme represented our College's unwavering
commitment to inspire every student to reach their full potential, encouraging
them to dream big and striving to achieve their goals. The event was a
resounding success, showcasing TMJC's vibrant culture in all its glory.
Every student displayed remarkable college spirit, coming together as one
unified community to give guests a genuine, firsthand experience of what
the TMJC spirit truly embodies.
The Principal's Talk at LT4 provided valuable insights into the intent
and philosophy of the TMJC Journey, a balanced, holistic development programme
that seeks to prepare students as future-ready citizens. The session also
featured meaningful sharing by an alumnus and current student leaders,
providing authentic perspectives on this transformative educational experience.
This was complemented by a second talk, #whyTM, which invited three current
students with different curricular and co-curricular backgrounds to share
authentic stories and perspectives of the TMJC experience, which was greatly
welcomed by all who attended.
The five-hour programme commenced with "Hop on Board with Skye," led by
the Student Council, and featured guided tours by dedicated student ambassadors
throughout the day. Three spectacular CCA showcases highlighted our diverse
talents: "Skye's Stage" featuring Wushu and English Drama, "Symphony of
Skye" with musical ensembles, and "Hype it Up with Skye" showcasing Modern
Dance and Taekwondo.
The day culminated in the "Skyebound Finale" with House Cheer Competition
and the college Mass Dance, coupled with a resound rendition of the college
anthem, demonstrating the collaborative spirit and unity that define TMJCians.
Back To School
The first day back at school at Tampines Meridian Junior College was
nothing short of electric, setting the tone for what promises to be a remarkable
year ahead. Despite the students being anxious at the start of the day,
the college soon buzzed with laughter, colour and contagious enthusiasm,
transforming the familiar grounds into a vibrant celebration of unity and
school pride.
The day unfolded with students having breakfast with their civics tutors
and thereafter a series of fun-filled outdoor inter-house games thoughtfully
organised by the dedicated Student Councillors (TMSC). These activities
immediately broke the ice, allowing students to reconnect after the break
and forge new friendships in a relaxed and joyful setting. Complementing
this were the civics group bonding games, creatively planned and conducted
by the Peer Support Leaders (PSLs). These sessions encouraged teamwork,
communication and mutual support, nurturing a sense of belonging within
each class and reinforcing the importance of positive class culture.
Throughout the day, cheers rang across the campus as houses rallied behind
their teams in spirited yet healthy competition. The energy was palpable,
with every point scored greeted by thunderous applause and chants. In the
end, Corvus emerged as the winning house, though the other
houses trailed closely behind, making the victory well-earned.
Adding to the excitement was the college mass dance and coordinated cheers
held in school Hall to conclude the day. These moments of collective participation
united the entire student body in rhythm and voice, powerfully boosting
college spirit and leaving everyone smiling, energised and proud to be
part of the TMJC community.
Students left campus in high spirits, hearts full and bonds strengthened.
It was a truly positive and uplifting start to the academic year — one
that perfectly captured the warmth, dynamism and unity of Tampines Meridian
Junior College.
